An ancient sport of relentless pursuit, reborn in Western Sydney. Chase. Dodge. Conquer. Free to join, all levels welcome. Bring your speed, we'll forge the rest.
One of the oldest pursuit sports of the Indian subcontinent: pure sprinting, sharp turns and split‑second decisions. Two teams take turns chasing and defending on a rectangular court split by a central lane of poles.
Chasers crouch down the central lane facing alternate directions. A touch on the shoulder and a shout of "Kho!" passes the chase to a teammate, keeping the hunt relentless.
Three defenders enter at a time, weaving and dodging to stay untagged for as long as possible. The longer they last, the more they deny the chasers.
Played in timed innings, it rewards explosive acceleration, agility and teamwork. No bats, no balls, just bodies, court and nerve.
From a borrowed patch of grass to national champions.
We have run as a community club since January 2025. It began the way most good things do: a handful of mates, an empty park, and a sport we grew up loving but could not find anywhere near home. We marked out our first court on a Western Sydney oval, rounded up whoever would run, and played Kho Kho until the floodlights came on.
From that grassroots start the Asura rose fast. In our very first year we went all the way to the Kho Kho Nationals 2025 in Australia and came home champions in both the men's and women's competitions. Today we train across two grounds in Westmead and Pendle Hill, open to anyone willing to chase, and we keep it free on purpose. Kho Kho belongs to the community, and so do we.
We chase every point and every personal best.
Speed, agility and reaction built session by session.
